WHAT IS THE ROLE OF THE MENTOR?
The trained mentor assigned by the LEA acts as a resource for the Level 1 educator. Utah State Board rule requires that EYE mentors be trained to successfully carry out their assignment. Mentors should develop appropriate attitudes, knowledge, and skills as described in the Utah Competencies of a Quality EYE Mentor to effectively assist Level 1 educators.
