EYE Portfolio

WHAT IS A WORKING PORTFOLIO?
The working portfolio is a collection of documents prepared by a Level 1 teacher and used as a tool for evaluation. The portfolio shall be reviewed and evaluated by the employing school district. The portfolio may be reviewed by USOE staff upon request during the Level 1 teacher's second year of teaching. It should be based on INTASC principles and include:

  • teaching artifacts
  • notations explaining the artifacts
  • a reflection and self-assessment of his or her own practice

Since UETS-based JPAS aligns with the Utah Effective Teaching Standards, it can be used to complete the EYE Portfolio. Please print out this document and complete it prior to the JPAS interview each year as a Level 1 educator.

If you have more questions on the EYE Folder, please contact your mentor specialist.
